EXPLORATION TEAM

Kim Stanton-Cook – Managing Director
BA(Geology & Geophysics), MAIG, GSA, ASEG

Kim is a geologist with over 35 years’ experience in the mining & exploration industry in senior management roles with a number of major companies, including Getty Oil where he explored for base metals and uranium in Australia and North America and managed the Maureen U3O8-CaF2-Mo deposit and explored with AGIP Nucleare’s uranium exploration team.He was Chief Geologist with Delta Gold NL where he was involved in the discovery and proving up of the Kanowna Belle Gold Mine then was Exploration Manager with the Otter Gold Mines Group, including Allstate Explorations NL, where he was involved in exploration in the Tanami region in the Northern Territory, Union Hill in NZ and the redevelopment of the Beaconsfield Gold Mine in Tasmania. Kim also founded Millennium Minerals NL, which holds exploration interests in NSW, WA and Queensland and is now a subsidiary of CopperCo Ltd.

 


Bret Ferris – Exploration Manager
BAppSc, MAIG

Bret is an exploration geologist with 30 years experience in mineral exploration targeting base metals and gold in a variety of settings including volcanogenic and porphyry environments.  He has worked in most Australian states and overseas in the Solomon Islands and western China.  He has led exploration teams for Amoco Minerals, Cyprus Gold, Arimco, and Delta Gold. These teams achieved numerous technical successes including definition of gold resources mined at Glendale as part of the Junction Reefs Gold Project south of Cadia, NSW. From 2004-08 he was closely involved in exploration and resource expansion at the Lady Annie and Mt Kelly copper projects in northwest Queensland.  He is a member of the Australasian Institute of Geoscientists and a “Competent Person’ as defined in the JORC Code for the Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves.

 


Glenn Coianiz- Senior Geologist
BSc(Hons), Grad Dip Comm, MAIG, GSA, MSEG.

Glenn has experience in precious and base metals and mineral sands deposits. He has worked on numerous gold deposits in North Queensland and Papua New Guinea and mineral sands deposits in Western Australia. He has conducted mineral resource studies on deposits in Papua New Guinea and Australia. He was also Product Development Manager in mineral sands with a large international customer base. He had sales and management roles prior to joining GCR.

 

 


Francisco Montes – Project Geologist
BSc.

Francisco has broad experience in mineral exploration in Western Australia, Queensland, and South America in particular Panama, Argentina and Ecuador. He has explored principally for gold in a variety of geological settings and was instrumental in the La Zarza discovery in Ecuador (now Frutas del Norte, Aurelian Resources Inc.).

 

 

 


Kerry McHugh- Business Development
B.Comm (Hons)

Kerry was appointed a Director of GCR in 1998 and resigned in January 2009. He has been retained by the company as an advisor to the Board on a range of commercial and financial matters. He is a member of the Audit Committee. He is the Executive Chairman of Argent Minerals Limited (ARD) which is farming in to a number of GCR tenements in NSW. Prior to joining the board of GCR, Kerry held various positions including General Manager, Business Development with Plutonic Resources Limited and Manager, Strategy and Planning with Pioneer International Limited. In an earlier life he was a Commonwealth public servant and served in various Departments including the Treasury and the Department of Primary Industries and Energy as well as Papua New Guinea’s Department of Finance.

 


ADMINISTRATION TEAM

Simon Lennon – Company Secretary, Legal Counsel and CFO
BSc, LLB, MCom, MBA, ACIS

Simon is a corporate lawyer with university degrees in science/law, economics, and business administration. He was legal counsel and then also company secretary for the shipping division of a multinational transport company and an Australian Stock Exchange listed multinational shipping company. He was legal general manager for an Australasian gold mining company and company secretary of its Australian Stock Exchange listed subsidiary. He was also legal counsel and company secretary for a major manufacturing company before becoming interim insurance manager for a multinational funds management company.

 


Carl Hoyer – Accountant
Certificate in Accounting (TAFE)

Carl joined GCR part time in 2000 with 15 years experience as an accountant. Previously worked in varying roles with CSR for 22 years.
